Gabriel Casas.Photography, information and modernity, 1929-1939
One of the first photographers to use the new visual language of the New Vision. As a photojournalist, he covered the main political, social and sport events of the city.
Second beginning. Arts in Catalonia, 1950-1977
Catalan art after Dau al Set until the beginning of the process of democratic and institutional restitution of the country, through artists, works, exhibitions or editorial projects.
Undamaged. Still Lifes from the Spanish Golden Age
Flowers, food and objects represented delicately. Going beyond the aesthetic fact, the works contain an uncover symbolic message: they remind us the temporary nature of existence or fugacity of beauty.
Xavier Gosé, 1876-1915. Illustrator of modernity

Offers the museum’s personal vision of gallery owner Artur Ramon, full of anecdotes and curiosities about the works of the collection.
Concert of Orquestra Simfònica of Esmuc
The Sala Oval has turned into a magnificent auditorium with the interpretation of pieces of Richard Strauss and Joan Manén in a revival eighty years after the concert in Palau de la Música Catalana.
Just like every month of July, a night of celebration, with the museum open until 1am full of spectacles. This year we have counted on the presence of IT Dansa of Institut del Teatre, the Marxing Dixie Band of Taller de Músics and Ateneu Popular 9barris.

Two days of free spectacles of dance at the Sala Oval, in collaboration with Mercat de les Flors.
Christmas at the Museu Nacional.
An afternoon of circus with Center of Arts of Circ Rogelio Rivel and a concert of Children’s Choir of the Orfeó Català had been the main activities of Christmas programme of the museum.

New APPs
Two new applications to have the museum on hand: Unique Visitors, encourages us to create personal itineraries of the collection, and CloudGuide which includes routes of the museum and some others of European museums.
New Portal of Photography in Catalonia: www.fotografiacatalunya.cat
Registered in Photography National Plan, with the objective of doing accessible and spreading the photographic historical and contemporary heritage of Catalonia. The museum has codirected the production of the website together with Catalan Agency of Cultural Heritage and in collaboration with a commission integrated by photographers and some other experts. Several institutions have contributed part of their funds. In 2016 it will expand with more centres, more authors and more images and an English version.

Restoration and work’s cession
Hercules Searching for the Hesperides by Aleix Clapés has been restored and currently on loan at the Palau Güell, its original location.
Restoration and reinstallation of Gaudí’s grilles
Restoration of several grilles and other architectural elements from Gaudí buildings and support in defining the new presentation and the reinstallation in the garden of Gaudí House Museum in Park Güell.
Presentation of the volumes of the Romanesque Encyclopaedia in Catalonia
A collaboration of the museum with Generalitat, Obra Social La Caixa and Red Eléctrica.

A Saint George’s Day campaign, an initiative of Friends of the museum, for acquisitions to the Musuem’s Library. A great number of donations and sponsorships of books has been achieved!

Apropa Cultura week
Activities of a cultural venues in order to make society aware about the importance of making culture accessible to all.
Tandem Schools Project
Worked through the year. In order to complete the course, a party was celebrated with the children of the Escola Miquel Bleach who have dressed up in costumes inspired by the works of the museum. The project will continue until 2017.

Network of Catalan art museums
Development of the Catalan network, increase of cession of works to Catalan museums – Sitges, Olot- and continuous training had been the distinguished actions.
International
The museum has made numerous loans for exhibitions like Velázquez in Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna and Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais of Paris; Titian – Vanitas, the Poet of the Image and the Shade of Beauty to Prague Castle; and Zurbarán: una nueva mirada, to Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid.
Invited by Met to Global Museum Leaders Colloquium
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has invited 14 directors of museums around the world, including ours, to a meeting that has been a great opportunity to discuss challenges of museums today and to exchange experiences and projects.
