Fotograf\u00eda: Jordi Calveras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/crist-de-capdella-paradigma-del-reaprofitament-1\/\">En el art\u00edculo publicado el 10 de junio<\/a> de este a\u00f1o se hac\u00eda referencia a las antiguas y m\u00faltiples restauraciones previas al ingreso en el Museo del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/colleccio\/crist-de-capdella\/anonim\/003936-000\">Cristo y la cruz de Capdella<\/a>. Tambi\u00e9n se hablaba del estudio y la evaluaci\u00f3n de los reaprovechamientos de materiales y elementos de diversas procedencias de este conjunto, con la intenci\u00f3n de actualizarlo y adaptarlo a los nuevos gustos y usos lit\u00fargicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En este texto haremos referencia al proceso de conservaci\u00f3n-restauraci\u00f3n de estas dos piezas que se encontraban bastante deterioradas, sobre todo si nos referimos al Cristo, extremadamente fr\u00e1gil, debido a su antig\u00fcedad y a las modificaciones y los procesos de envejecimiento de los materiales que estaban en entornos que no fueron siempre los m\u00e1s \u00f3ptimos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asumir la restauraci\u00f3n de Cristo y la cruz de Capdella ha supuesto realizar un<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/crist-de-capdella-paradigma-del-reaprofitament-1\/\"> estudio<\/a> del conjunto de la obra y plantear una propuesta de intervenci\u00f3n que, forzosamente, ha debido tener en cuenta aspectos muy diversos. En un sentido se han respetado las antiguas restauraciones y modificaciones que forman parte de la historia de la obra, cambiando tan solo un encaje de los brazos de Cristo para poder recuperar el original. Tambi\u00e9n se ha priorizado la conservaci\u00f3n de la pieza realizando una intensa intervenci\u00f3n de consolidaci\u00f3n del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/suport\">soporte<\/a> de Cristo para poder llevar a cabo todo el proceso global de restauraci\u00f3n. Por \u00faltimo, se ha tenido en cuenta que este conjunto, por su singularidad, quedar\u00e1 expuesto en las salas de la colecci\u00f3n permanente de rom\u00e1nico del Museo y, desde esta perspectiva, se ha querido conseguir darle un aspecto final arm\u00f3nico, integrando todos los elementos del conjunto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La cruz<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el art\u00edculo anterior ya explicamos toda la informaci\u00f3n que hace referencia al estudio de las diferentes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/policromia\">policrom\u00edas<\/a> aplicadas a lo largo del tiempo para adaptar la pieza al nuevo Cristo y a las novedades est\u00e9ticas requeridas del momento. A continuaci\u00f3n exponemos un resumen gr\u00e1fico con im\u00e1genes virtuales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Policrom\u00edas actuales del reverso<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div Im\u00e1genes: Anna Carreras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La cruz es de madera con\u00edfera formada por un larguero y un travesa\u00f1o encajados a <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Acoblament_(fusteria)\">media madera<\/a>. Como se ha dicho anteriormente, la cruz no es la originaria del Cristo, cuesti\u00f3n ratificada por el informe de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/raigs-x\">rayos&nbsp;X<\/a> que confirma que no hay ninguna coincidencia de los listones de madera originales que fijaban el Cristo a su cruz original rom\u00e1nica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre otros indicios, la construcci\u00f3n de la cruz nos ha dejado dos marcas de herramienta muy evidentes: la primera se encuentra en el per\u00edmetro de la cruz y est\u00e1 formada por un conjunto de incisiones dispuestas en l\u00ednea. Es posible que las incisiones se hayan realizado con un form\u00f3n o con una gubia, cuyo trabajo marcaba el per\u00edmetro del rebajo. Fotograf\u00edas: Anna Carreras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como ya hemos mencionado, el reverso actual conserva dos policrom\u00edas y tambi\u00e9n dos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/preparacio\">capas de preparaci\u00f3n<\/a>. Previamente a la aplicaci\u00f3n de la primera, m\u00e1s antigua, se adhiri\u00f3 un entelado de lino en las zonas donde pod\u00eda existir una grieta en la madera del soporte y posiblemente en las zonas de junta que unen el larguero y el travesa\u00f1o de la cruz. Esta mutilaci\u00f3n posiblemente se realiz\u00f3 para que la cruz encajara en alg\u00fan lugar arquitect\u00f3nico, supuestamente dentro de la <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sant_Vicen%C3%A7_de_Cabdella\">iglesia de Sant Vicen\u00e7 de Capdella<\/a>, de donde proviene. En los recuadros perfilados en negro tambi\u00e9n se observan los tres injertos de madera nueva sin policromar que rehicieron los extremos del travesa\u00f1o y la parte inferior del larguero. Conserva restos escasos de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/policromia\">policrom\u00eda<\/a> y de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/preparacio\">capa de preparaci\u00f3n<\/a> de distintas \u00e9pocas. En la oreja izquierda del Cristo se observa un peque\u00f1o fragmento de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/endrapat\">entelado<\/a>, posiblemente original rom\u00e1nico. Imagen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/radiografia\">radiogr\u00e1fica<\/a>: \u00c0ngels Comella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consolidaci\u00f3n del soporte y obturaci\u00f3n de orificios<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Cristo sufri\u00f3 un ataque de insectos xil\u00f3fagos poco despu\u00e9s de su construcci\u00f3n rom\u00e1nica. Este hecho estrope\u00f3 sustancialmente la morfolog\u00eda de la madera y la transform\u00f3 en un material poroso y fr\u00e1gil. Antes de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/desinsectacio-anoxia\">desinsectaci\u00f3n por anoxia<\/a> se consolid\u00f3 el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/suport\">soporte<\/a> aplicando un \u201cgota a gota\u201d con un producto consolidante que iba infiltr\u00e1ndose lentamente en toda la superficie del soporte. Esta intervenci\u00f3n se realiz\u00f3 con los brazos desmontados, desde el reverso de la pieza y por impregnaci\u00f3n, lo que permiti\u00f3 que el soporte tomara consistencia. Una vez finalizado este proceso de consolidaci\u00f3n, que facilit\u00f3 la manipulaci\u00f3n de la pieza, se procedi\u00f3 a cubrir todos los orificios de xil\u00f3fago y a reconstruir peque\u00f1as carencias de soporte. Se utiliz\u00f3 un tipo de polvo de madera con <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/pigment\">pigmentos<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/aglutinant\">aglutinante<\/a> que se iba entonando en funci\u00f3n de la zona que se ten\u00eda que reintegrar. Fotograf\u00edas: Anna Carreras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tratamiento del injerto de la zona del vientre del Cristo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como ya se hab\u00eda comentado, un elemento singular del Cristo es el injerto de madera ubicado en la zona del vientre y <em>perizonium<\/em>, que cubre una falta de soporte. Era evidente que este se hab\u00eda abierto, y, como demuestran las fotograf\u00edas antiguas, se hab\u00eda reubicado de forma err\u00f3nea dejando los pliegues de la tela del pa\u00f1o de pureza desplazados. La restauraci\u00f3n consisti\u00f3 en separar esta pieza e intentar emplazarla en su lugar de origen, siguiendo la l\u00ednea de los pliegues. Fotograf\u00edas: Anna Carreras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/ca\/reliquiari\"><strong>Reliquiario<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tal y como se observa en la siguiente fotograf\u00eda del reverso, el reliquiario \u2014posiblemente no original\u2014 ten\u00eda la tapa sostenida precariamente con unos clavos industriales, detalle que nos informa de que el recept\u00e1culo se abri\u00f3 en \u00e9poca moderna y, seg\u00fan la bibliograf\u00eda consultada, cuando era director del Museu Nacional d\u2019Art de Catalunya el historiador del arte <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joan_Ainaud_de_Lasarte\">Juan Ainaud de Lasarte<\/a>. Esta singularidad provoc\u00f3 que hubiera que intervenir esta zona. En primer lugar, se orden\u00f3 todo el contenido de restos \u00f3seos en bolsitas de conservaci\u00f3n selladas y se dej\u00f3 testimonio de la fecha de esta intervenci\u00f3n. Previamente, se hab\u00eda realizado el tratamiento de consolidaci\u00f3n y obturaci\u00f3n de orificios de la lipsanoteca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poco antes de finalizar la restauraci\u00f3n global del Cristo se plante\u00f3 la forma de reubicar la lipsanoteca en su recept\u00e1culo con tapa. La soluci\u00f3n consisti\u00f3 en la utilizaci\u00f3n de una cinta de pasamaner\u00eda, que es de un color similar al del soporte de madera, y de velcro para sujetarla. Fotograf\u00edas: Anna Carreras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Intervenci\u00f3n en los encajes de los brazos<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los encajes de los brazos al tronco del cuerpo estaban totalmente deteriorados, y hab\u00edan perdido el volumen y la rigidez necesarios para sostener su peso. Una antigua intervenci\u00f3n de restauraci\u00f3n serr\u00f3 los brazos de sus encajes y adhiri\u00f3 un injerto con madera nueva que realizaba la funci\u00f3n de aguantar la horizontalidad de los brazos en cruz del Cristo. Se observan los nuevos injertos que se eliminaron para recuperar los encajes correspondientes a la posici\u00f3n original de los brazos \/ Negativo en 3D del vac\u00edo del encaje original. Fotograf\u00eda: Marta M\u00e9rida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reproducir el encaje original era factible, pero no estabilizaba la horizontalidad de los brazos en la cruz, ya que la propia degradaci\u00f3n de la madera dejaba un espacio entre uno y otro que hab\u00eda que llenar. El conservador-restaurador de soportes, Pere de Llobet, ide\u00f3 un sistema que, a base de realizar moldes y contramoldes de la zona que se deb\u00eda intervenir, y con la posterior impresi\u00f3n 3D del vac\u00edo, fuera posible realizar pieza de madera de sauce que encajara perfectamente en los hombros del Cristo. As\u00ed se consiguieron dos objetivos: el primero, recuperar los encajes originales, y el segundo, que el nuevo sistema de presentaci\u00f3n permitera, en caso necesario, desmontar los brazos sin da\u00f1arlos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter is-style-rectangular\"><div class=\"tiled-gallery__gallery\"><div
