regarding the easy-to-read standards.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The last year and a half has been very a very difficult time; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">many people have died and many companies <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">and businesses have closed down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Solidarity campaigns <\/strong>have been no exception in this worldwide crisis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">and have also been seriously affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>WHAT SOLIDARITY CAMPAIGNS DOES THE MUSEUM\u2019S STAFF HABITUALLY ORGANIZE?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>. <\/strong>The raffling of a <strong>ham<\/strong> and a <strong>hamper<\/strong> <strong>for Christmas <\/strong>to <strong>raise <\/strong>money<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">for an <strong>NGO <\/strong>chosen by a vote among the entire staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped things<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">they no longer use and give the money to an NGO<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">chosen by a vote among the whole Helping children<\/strong> in poor health who need medical treatment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">or <strong>orthopaedic devices<\/strong> that the public health system<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">does not cover and which their family cannot afford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>.<\/strong> <strong>Looking after the environment<\/strong> by recycling plastic bottle caps,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">preventing them from ending up in the general waste bin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>HOW DOES THIS CAMPAIGN WORK?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">1. <strong>Plastic caps are collected<\/strong> in two large cardboard boxes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">  <strong>.<\/strong> One next to the drinks machines on the ground floor where the offices are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">  <strong>.<\/strong> The other in the museum staff dining room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">2. When the container is full, we call Fundaci\u00f3n Seur, which comes to collect them and takes them to a <strong>recycling<\/strong> company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">3. The money earned by recycling the caps<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">is given directly to the families of these children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>WHAT HAS BEEN THE RESULT OF <em>TAPS PER A UNA NOVA VIDA<\/em>?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In 2020, 55 kilos of plastic bottle caps were collected at the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Since this campaign started in August 2017, <strong>240 kilos of caps <\/strong>have been collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Fundaci\u00f3n Seur has helped 171 boys and girls with nearly \u20ac1,200,000 raised<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">by the recycling of 6,542 tons of caps, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">which has prevented the emission of 8,198 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>WHAT CAMPAIGNS ARE WE PREPARING FOR THIS YEAR?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Now that a lot of people have been vaccinated and the <strong>pandemic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">is a bit more controlled, the museum staff <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">are looking forward to organizing solidarity campaigns again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">On the one hand, we want to continue with the campaigns that we were already doing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">before Covid-19, provided the health situation allows us to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">On the other, we are thinking about a <strong>new solidarity action<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">in which the museum staff will be fully involved, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">making use of everyone\u2019s particular personal skills to help those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Keep an eye out because soon there will be an entry in this blog<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">to explain this new campaign to you in greater detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">You are sure to be surprised!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>VOCABULARY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Solidarity campaigns<\/strong>: actions that are carried out to help people, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">animals or things that need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>NGO<\/strong>: these initials stand for \u2018non-governmental organization\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">They are associations whose activities are based on solidarity,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">rather than on making a profit, for the common good of society.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Raise<\/strong>: collecting money<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Leisure activities<\/strong>: activities based on games <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">to entertain and amuse everyone who takes part in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Orthopaedic devices<\/strong>: devices to help people with a disability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For example, a wheelchair or special shoes for feet that have been operated on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Pandemic<\/strong>: an infectious disease that affects a large number of people all over the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cristina Riera This article has been written and published regarding the easy-to-read standards.
