<\/a>Font de la vida<\/em>, a\nfundamental work in the artistic trajectory of Mu\u00f1oz, doesn\u2019t form part of the\ndonation, even though it is exhibited alongside the other pieces. That\u2019s why the Friends want to acquire it; to\npresent it as a gift to the museum and achieve the fact that the tapestry stays\nin the museum and forms part of the collection, once the exhibition finishes,\ntowards the end of 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The beginning of this crowdfunding campaign, valued at \u20ac15,000, accompanies expected good news, and it is the fact that the restoration process<\/strong> of The violinist<\/a><\/em> has entered the final phase<\/strong>. The sculpture by Pablo Gargallo has been restored thanks to the generosity of more than 250 donors, who have contributed the \u20ac46,000 needed through the campaign \u201cLet\u2019s save the violinist\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Friends, in one of the last activities proposed<\/a> of 2019, have had the privilege of seeing the exhibition Knotting the space. Aur\u00e8lia Mu\u00f1oz<\/em> Donation<\/em> accompanied by S\u00edlvia Ventosa<\/strong>, conservator of Textile and Fashion from the Design Museum and daughter of the artist, and of \u00c0lex Mitrani<\/strong>, conservator of contemporary art of the Museu Nacional. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We have found\nout about, and first-hand, the artistic and personal trajectory of the artist,\nand we have explored her main sources of inspiration and the importance her\nfigure had in the field of tapestry arts<\/strong>\nand textile art<\/strong>. This allowed us to understand the reasons\nthat led Aur\u00e8lia Mu\u00f1oz to becoming one of the most notable references of the\ninternational movement of the \u00abnew tapestry\u00bb, which emerged halfway through the sixties of the last century, and\nwhich received recognition from the critics at an international level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Friends\nwere also able to appreciate how her\navant-garde works were linked to universal mystical concerns<\/strong> and at the\nsame time have a great symbolic\nconnection with works that we find in the museum’s collection<\/strong>.
