
{"id":15926,"date":"2019-04-04T11:39:05","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T11:40:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/?p=15926"},"modified":"2019-04-04T11:40:47","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T11:40:47","slug":"the-museum-is-on-the-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/en\/the-museum-is-on-the-move\/","title":{"rendered":"The museum is on the move!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">N\u00faria Perales and Patr\u00edcia Prats<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nMuseu Nacional is in constant movement and we have started the year with an\naction in the street which allows us to confirm this literally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A\ntotal of 14 works of the collection have travelled by tram for two months and\nhave surprised the travellers, more accustomed to seeing this type of\nadvertising by the major commercial brands and not by public cultural\ninstitutions, and even less so, by museums. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So,\nfor two months, we have had the privilege of getting in touch with all types of\ncitizens over the 6 km journey of the <em>Trambaix<\/em>,\nfrom Barcelona and L\u2019Hospitalet de Llobregat as far as Esplugues de Llobregat,\nCornell\u00e0 de Llobregat, Sant Joan Desp\u00ed, Sant Just Desvern and Sant Feliu de\nLlobregat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/TRAM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"440\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/TRAM-1024x440.jpg\" alt=\"Convoy decorated with works of the Museum\" class=\"wp-image-15886\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/TRAM-1024x440.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/TRAM-300x129.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/TRAM-768x330.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>The convoy decorated with works of the Museum travelling along the Avinguda Diagonal of Barcelona. Photo: TRAM<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to a collaboration\nagreement between the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tram.cat\/en\/lines-and-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TRAM<\/a> and the group <a href=\"http:\/\/articketbcn.org\/en\/barcelona-museum-pass\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ArticketBCN<\/a>, of which the Museum forms part, we have been able to\ntake advantage of free-of-charge <strong>large-sized\nadvertising during the months of February and March<\/strong>, which has <strong>allowed us to have a major visibility<\/strong>\namong thousands of citizens and a not very habitual presence in the territory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due\nto budgetary questions, too often we are obliged to restrict our campaigns to\nthe city of Barcelona. &nbsp;It is therefore\nvery good news to have been able to <strong>deploy\nthis corporate campaign in the main towns of the Baix Llobregat through a means of mass transportation, <\/strong>as is\nthe case of the <em>Trambaix<\/em>, which in\n2018 did more than 19 million journeys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Art which moves and connects people emotionally <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Faced with these figures of potential audience, it was clear to us that we\nshould try to get the most out of the opportunity that this publicity action\nprovided us with so as to <strong>explain that\nthe<\/strong> <strong>Museu Nacional is a place to live multiple experiences through art:\na space to live emotions and to share them<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is necessary to place the focus on the fact that we have a major\ncollection of works from nearly all the periods \u2013 from Medieval times up until\nthe 20<sup>th<\/sup> century \u2013 and of very different disciplines such as\npainting, sculpture, posters, photography or, more recently, comics. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/en\/collection-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">permanent collection<\/a> which, curiously isn\u2019t\npermanent at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We therefore proposed the briefing to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fagenciatsc.com%2F&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNEh1Qy8DojItN_6QfsvG_DcAUiHPA\" target=\"_blank\">TSC agency<\/a>: we wanted to get away from the pigeon-holing of the Museu Nacional as a museum of just Romanesque and Modernism.&nbsp; These are, without any doubt whatsoever, our most important collections at an international level, but the Museum is much more than this and this is clearly demonstrated each year by the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.museunacional.cat%2Fsites%2Fdefault%2Ffiles%2Fprogramacio_2019_cat_b_2.pdf&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNEmwiFNc2D-IkrLwagXKKoGQZO3Hw\" target=\"_blank\">exhibitions programme<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get inspired\/ Think \/ Discover\/ Become moved\/ Observe \/ Share<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nwanted to do a <strong>corporate campaign that\nwas daring and appealed to the emotions<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/Disseny-campanya-TRAM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"363\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/Disseny-campanya-TRAM-1024x363.jpg\" alt=\"Design of the museum's campaign \" class=\"wp-image-15890\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/Disseny-campanya-TRAM-1024x363.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/Disseny-campanya-TRAM-300x106.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/Disseny-campanya-TRAM-768x273.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/Disseny-campanya-TRAM.jpg 1333w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With this communication goal, we <strong>chose\ndetails of works of the Museum reproduced in large format, so as to achieve a\nstrong visual impact<\/strong>.&nbsp; Paintings,\nphotographs, posters\u2026from the 11th century until the nineteen fifties of the 20<sup>th<\/sup>\ncentury.&nbsp; The 14 works chosen, printed on\nvinyl of more than 2 metres high, appealed directly to the travellers.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it is very clear to us that for some time\nmuseums are <strong>no longer places for\ncontemplation, becoming spaces where all publics can find their own place<\/strong>.&nbsp;
