The work of the Barcelona photographer <strong>Oriol Maspons<\/strong> will be the subject of a large-format retrospective. The Museu Nacional continues disseminating knowledge of its collection, introducing the public to its artists, and collaborating with other national and international art museums.<\/p>\n<h3>Exhibitions<\/h3>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/en\/advanced-piece-search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bartolom\u00e9 Bermejo<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Organized jointly by the Museu Nacional d\u2019Art de Catalunya and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodelprado.es\/en\/whats-on\/exhibition\/bartolome-bermejo\/66e35a1d-77bc-aca0-bab3-6788bd54672f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Museo del Prado<\/a>, the exhibition <strong>brings together work from several museums<\/strong> <strong>around the world and will enable visitors to admire all aspects of the work of <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/en\/advanced-piece-search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Bartolom\u00e9 Bermejo<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2003 the Museu Nacional mounted an exhibition on the subject of Hispano-Flemish Gothic Painting, including work by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/en\/advanced-piece-search\">Bermejo<\/a>. Museu d\u2019Art Jaume Morera<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Collection<\/h3>\n<p>The museum is working intensely on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museunacional.cat\/en\/collections\/modern-art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Modern Art collection .<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Post-war art and the second Avant-garde, 1940-1980<\/h4>\n<p>The Museu Nacional wishes to incorporate into the collection the art of the period dating from the post-war years and the Franco dictatorship to the return of democracy and the beginnings of Post-modernism, a period that has been called the second Avant-garde and has been little studied to date.<\/p>\n<p>Based on an intense process of research, the museum is performing a task of heritage enhancement in order to configure the collection covering that period.<\/p>\n<p>The artworks that have been acquired, thanks to donations, long-term loans and purchases, will be exhibited in the galleries at the end of the Modern Art collection, as a prolongation of the permanent collection\u2019s discourse.<\/p>\n<p>During 2019 the works of Aur\u00e8lia Mu\u00f1oz, Joan Claret, Ram\u00f3n Llovet, Magda Bolumar, Fin (Jos\u00e9 Vilat\u00f3), Francesc Tod\u00f3, and Messa (Francesc Sempere Fern\u00e1ndez de Messa) will be presented.<\/p>\n<p>This is a <strong>collection under construction<\/strong><strong> that will grow, since more additions are planned during the year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14386\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/J.-Fin-Composition.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14386\" class=\"wp-image-14386\" title=\"Fin, Composition, 1949\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/J.-Fin-Composition.png\" alt=\"Fin, Composition, 1949\" width=\"610\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/J.-Fin-Composition.png 688w, https:\/\/blog.museunacional.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/J.-Fin-Composition-300x197.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14386\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fin, Composition, 1949<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>Aur\u00e8lia Mu\u00f1oz Donation<\/h4>\n<p>The artist\u2019s family has donated seven textile works and a collection of drawings to the museum that will enable us to appreciate the quality of her work in the formative years of the language of contemporary textile art. Photo: La Fotogr\u00e0fica<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Dialogues with the collection<\/h3>\n<p>This project <strong>invites contemporary artists<\/strong> <strong>to establish a dialogue with the collection <\/strong>as a way of building bridges between society, the present and the works conserved in the museum.<\/p>\n<h4>Oriol Vilapuig<\/h4>\n<p>The artist Oriol Vilapuig explores Romanesque chapels and, using the <em>grattage<\/em> technique<em>,<\/em> he recovers reliefs, floors, symbols that had been hidden, spaces almost invisible to the occasional visitor.
